Guide to Contracting & Subcontracting Security Services

Guide to Contracting & Subcontracting Security Services

As a training provider, we are proud to benchmark the term ‘post-graduate support.’ We take pride in this as it not only sets us apart from the pack, but also provides a significant advantage to our graduates and their feedback is astounding which is what drives us to provide the best, most valuable, practical training and practical follow-on support that we can.

Perhaps one of the most common areas we provide this support in is contracting and subcontracting security services. More specifically, how to do so including methods of advertising, networking, obtaining contracts and how to subcontract those services to the larger firms. Below are some tips and tactics that not only have I found to be successful but our graduates have provided excellent feedback on as well.

How to Break Auto Glass

Breaking auto glass is one of those skills not best confirmed (or learned) during an emergency. In most cases, there’s not enough time to learn by trial and error and eventually get it right. Below are some useful tips on how to break auto glass in an emergency.

Some Thoughts on Active Shooter Incidents

In recent times we have seen an increase in active shooter events. If you are caught in the middle of one of these events it does not matter whether the motive is terrorism, domestic dispute, or workplace violence at that moment it is about survival. I won’t go into the everyone should go armed all the time as this may be dependent upon local laws, workplace rules, etc… It is a personal decision that each person as on individual has to make for themselves and their families.

Gear Review: Precision Holsters

“I came across the mention [of Precision Holsters] in one of your LinkedIn posts after 2330 hrs one night this year, and immediately sent them an email requesting product information and availability.

By 1100 hrs next date, I had received an email back from them and within 30 minutes and two more emails, was told that they would be happy to make one up for me, as they didn’t have one in stock.

Five days later, I received it and one day after that, was wearing it on an out of state driving job; jeans to suits, 15-18 hours a day, for six days.

Returned from that trip and for the next 16 days, wore Precisions’ holster 15-19 hours a day, while driving over 3000 miles doing FBO airport runs, transporting business clients and families, escorting clients into and out of social events, wearing it with jeans, 5-11’s and suits, and sitting in a vehicle 3-4 hours at a time. Very comfortable to wear even after 15 hours. Only thing I changed was adding mole skin to the rear of holster. I even had my guys checking to see if I was carrying as the “print” was hard to notice. I would “Highly Recommend” Precision Holsters. Their customer service is excellent, with extremely fast turn around, even making mine up from scratch.

ALUMNI DISCOUNT FOR PRECISION HOLSTERS

How many companies are going to make a product up from scratch, for a customer they have never met or done business with, based on a set of emails. I came away very impressed and plan on being a long time customer, even my guys are looking at them.

Thanks again!”

Training is an On Going Process

Via Art Dorst

When I first entered the security field many years ago there were no requirements for licenses and mandatory basic training requirements.  It was not until years later when I was hired as an Assets Protection Manager that I got my first taste of on- going in service type training.

How to plug a tire – Flat Tire Repair

I got a call yesterday to go help a friend with a flat tire, so this issue is fresh on my mind and I thought I would share. My friend had a nail in the rear left tire and it was quickly going flat. Just about ten minutes from me, I was there in 12 and got it plugged up, brought it back up to correct pressure and they were on their way.

This is a fundamental skill that every driver, especially every security driver, should know how to do. This actually occurred in our Defensive & Evasive Driving Course in Pomona, CA early in the year and it was a great learning point for the class.
